Life Update

I really meant to post on this blog at least twice a week. Sorry for falling behind on that. But, I recently got my first job working in an Ingle's Deli, so my excuse is that I've been working. Which is mostly true. Anyways, I'm hoping that this income will fund future crafting endeavors! I know for sure that I'll be doing lots of crafting once this semester starts and I take a little!

Another FYI, I think I'm going to be redesigning the site a tad. My vision for this site has changed for the moment, so expect it to be a little younger and bolder. Possibly with a side of srat.

Catch y'all on the flip side!

DIY Dip Dye Shorts

After making the flag shorts, I found out about dip dye shorts. Once again, dip dye shorts are ridiculous if you buy them in a store or online somewhere. Why not make them for under $10?

Materials Needed:
  • A pair of jean shorts (or pants that you can cut off)
  • Regular bleach (not necessary if shorts are already white or light denim)
  • White vinegar (also not necessary if you're not bleaching)
  • Permanent fabric dye in any color or colors
  • Large bowl or bucket
  • Gloves (optional)
Before you start, you should know that this is going to take some time. This would be a great project for a lazy day!

Remember that Lilly Agenda I posted about earlier?

They are finally off of pre-sale and are now shipping!

Of course I got my favorite You Gotta Regatta!

Once it gets in, I'll do a review and show y'all the deets inside of the agenda.

Go to the agenda section on the Lilly website to find one you like! There are a few sizes and colors to choose from. Prices range from $16 to $33.

When you check out, use the promo code "welcome" to receive free shipping! That will save you $7!

One of my absolute favorite songs! Every time I hear it, I want to go on a road trip.

DIY Light Reflector

If you know anything about photography, you know that lighting can make or break a picture. It doesn't matter how advanced your camera is, lighting is key to a good shot. Sometimes nature just doesn't work in your favor and you end up with harsh shadows or not enough light. Some professional photographers use lights, but sometimes it's not convenient to take bulky lights with you. The solution? Reflectors and diffusers. Buying them can cost around $20! If you're just getting into photography, making your own for cheap can help you improve your photography and learn more about lighting and placement.

In this super simple tutorial, I'll show you how to make your own reflector out of things you probably already have.

Materials:

Cardboard
Aluminum Foil
Glue
Ribbon or string (optional)
